Job Description
As Lead Intake Attorney at Driver Defense Team, you will play a crucial role in our client acquisition process by serving as the lead negotiator during initial consultations. In this role, you will leverage your legal expertise and negotiation skills to engage with potential clients and assist in closing the sale. Based in our Villa Park office, you will be responsible for effectively closing leads and securing new clients for the firm that have been consulted by our Intake team and require a final push. The right candidate will be high-energy, enthusiastic and passionate to deliver great customer relations and be “the closer” for our Intake team.
- Support initial consultations with potential clients to assess their legal needs and provide guidance on the services offered by the Driver Defense Team
- Serve as the key point of contact for Intake Agents to assist in closing the sale with Potential New Clients (PNCs)
- Negotiate client engagements, including fee arrangements and contract terms, to secure new business for the firm
- Provide comprehensive information about our legal services and differentiate Driver Defense Team from competitors
- Maintain visibility with our Intake team and with potential clients who have not yet retained our services, addressing any concerns and providing additional information as needed
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and firm leadership to ensure a seamless transition for new clients and facilitate the onboarding process
- Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to the Illinois state bar
- Previous experience practicing law, preferably in criminal defense or a related field
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively advocate on behalf of clients
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely
- Ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds and establish trust and credibility
- Commitment to providing outstanding client service and ensuring a positive experience for every individual you interact with
Bonus:

Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience and performance
$110,000 + yearly
Driver Defense Team is a Chicago law firm that fights traffic tickets, DUIs, and other driving-related offenses for our clients. We have offices in Chicago, Stone Park, and Villa Park. Our team consists of 8 lawyers and about 20 non-attorney staff. The intake team currently has 5 top performers and we’re looking to add to that team.
